"It blew my mind right from the very first sail. The thrill and the learning curve- that you could advance to going solo, and then you could learn all the ropes, then you could compete in racing. And so I was just pumped right from the beginning."
- Gerry Burns, Sailor and race club fleet captain for the Adaptive Sailing Association of British Columbia
The Mobility Cup is Canada’s largest annual regatta for sailors with disabilities, welcoming athletes from across Canada and around the world.
Its guiding belief: Anyone can sail.
Founded in Vancouver by accessibility advocate Sam Sullivan, the event showcases inclusion, community, and the power of adaptive sport. Each year, sailors compete in Martin 16 adaptive sailboats equipped with sip-and-puff, joystick, and custom supports made possible by volunteers and national partners.
The 35th-anniversary regatta returns to the city where the event first set sail. Taking place from September 8–12, 2026, Vancouver’s adaptive sailing community, volunteers, and long-standing partners will come together to make this a landmark year.
